ReStore Treasures

We're gearing up to get started on our Cottage Project so today I decided to do a little research! After lunch with a sweet new friend I headed over to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. We're not ready to purchase items yet but I thought it'd be good to go in and see the types of things they have. The ReStore store is a sort of GoodWill for gently used and surplus renovation goods. I saw all kinds of great things! Everything was very reasonably priced and some things were incredible values (like new windows for $10!!)  It's overflowing with Pintrest project potential- try saying that 5 times, fast. Here are a few pictures of the treasures I found. I'm excited to go back again and really shop!

A Welcoming Front Door

One of the things I wasn't so sure about in the cottage was the sliding door at the front of the house. While talking about this Joshua mentioned possibly looking into replacing it with a regular front door. Right away, you wouldn't believe how excited I got over the possibility of a door!!  I wanted to look for doors so later that week we headed over to Lowe's (my new FAVORITE store) and looked through their selection. I know this sounds silly but I absolutely love front doors! It's like a welcome sign for your home-so of course I'm way too picky. Picky is not a good quality when you're trying to do minimal, inexpensive renovations. Fortunately, I'm married to the sweetest, most patient man. He stood there with me as I labored over a door with a semi-circle window or a door with odd glass designs- neither of which I really preferred. We figured we'd pick the more inexpensive of the two and just paint it a fun color. When we got home I went to Lowes.com to see if there was more of a selection online but sadly, there wasn't. Then I remembered Home Depot! So off to Homedepot.com I went and would you believe I found the PERFECT door! I love it and it cost just about the same as the lower end ones at Lowes! I can't wait until it's door replacing time and we get to pick this baby up! It's simply cottage perfect!

What color should it be? red? black? robin's egg blue?
